Juvenile Court has passed the death sentence upon two minors for the murder of Abdul Muheeth, G. Veyru.
Muheeth was stabbed on the 19th of February 2012, around 1:50 am early Sunday morning, while he was sitting on a motorcycle in a blind alley opposite the Ministry of Finance. He died of his injuries hours later.
The Juvenile Court sentence states that the two minors were convicted for international murder based on the evidence and confessions against them, even though they had denied the charges.
State raised charges against three minors of whom, one was acquitted.
Regarding the acquitted individual, the Juvenile Court sentence states that while the confessions of one person states that the minor took part in the attack, no other witness had included him in the act.
All three person are now past 18 years of age.
The sentence also states that the CCTV footage obtained from ADK Hospital places the two convicted individuals at the Hospital that night, along with other who were believed have been involved in the crime, after the time of the incident.
It also states that the voice recognition analysis of the intercepted calls from the mobile phone numbers used by the two convicted individuals were analyzed by a security firm named Cyber Security Malaysia, and that point five of their case report shows that the voices that matched with the people in question included the two boys who were convicted.
The sentence also states that the court is certain that some of the information exchanged over the phone calls were of the nature that no one other than those who were involved in the act could come to know.
