New High Commissioner of India to the Maldives Rajeev Shahare has presented his letter of credence to President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Waheed congratulated the new High Commissioner and welcomed him to the Maldives.
At a meeting held after the ceremony, the President Waheed and the High Commissioner discussed bilateral relations that exist between the two countries and ways to further strengthen ties.
High Commissioner Shahare reassured President Waheed that relations between the Maldives and India would continue to flourish, and that it was his highest priority to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
Upon completing his tenure, former Indian High Commission to the Maldives D. M. Mulay departed from the Maldives on the 24th of March this year.
