Deputy Finance Minister Nuzha resigns

Deputy Minister of Finance Fathimath Nuzha resigned from her post today.

Nuzha confirmed to Sun that she has tendered her letter of resignation to the President.

Nuzha cited personal reasons for her resignation including needing “time at home”.

Finance Minister Mohamed Shihab said that in addition to Nuzha, Deputy Finance Minister Haifa Naeem has also mentioned her intention to resign.

Haifa could not be reached as there is no answer on her phone.

Press Secretary of President’s Office Mohamed Zuhair, who is currently in Sri Lanka, said that their letters of resignation have not been received by the President’s Office so far.

Former Finance Minister Ahmed Inaz and Budget Controller Ahmed Asad also resigned recently.
