Less than two weeks to go for Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2026

There is now less than two weeks left until this year’s edition of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) kicks off in Hulhumale’.

The DMRR 2026 is scheduled to take place on November 20 at the Hulhumale’ Central Park, bringing together more than 5,600 runners, both local and international.

This year marks a significant milestone, with DMRR 2026 officially recognized as a World Athletics Ranking Competition, held on a World Athletics-certified course measured in cooperation with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

This means eligible race performances can contribute towards athletes’ World Athletics rankings, giving runners in the Maldives an opportunity to compete for internationally recognized results.

The DMRR 2026 will feature the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Open categories, alongside newly introduced team categories.

Bringing together seasoned athletes and those taking on their first race, DMRR continues to encourage people to embrace healthier, more active lifestyles, build confidence and experience the personal achievement of crossing the finish line.

As runners prepare for race day, they are encouraged to priorities their health and fitness through consistent training and proper preparation. With the support and guidance of DMRR’s coaching partners, The Wellness Club, Island Runners Maldives and Marathon Runners Maldives, participants can build endurance, improve their running techniques and develop the confidence needed to take on their chosen race category.

Continuing its meaningful tradition, DMRR 2026 is once again dedicated towards the cause of child protection which is a central focus of Dhiraagu’s social responsibility program.

The run will create a platform for NGOs to advocate for children’s rights and raise funds for their cause.

DMRR is the first international run held in the Maldives and is listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running Calendar, with a World Athletics-certified race route.

As the largest annual run in the country, DMRR brings together runners and communities from across the Maldives and abroad.

Dhiraagu continues to share updates related to DMRR across its social media channels as well as its website.
