Border Control System agreement will be signed tomorrow: Defence Minister

Acting Transport Minister, Defence Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim has said that an agreement on a Border Control System provided to the Maldives by the United States would be signed tomorrow.

Nazim told Sun Online that the signing ceremony will be held tomorrow and that more information would be provided later.

“The agreement on the Border Control System provided to the Maldives by the United States would be signed at 3:00 pm tomorrow. More information will be provided later,” he said.

Meanwhile, the parliament has notified the government to halt all work related to the government’s agreement with Malaysia’s Nexbis to establish a Border Control System in the Maldives. This notification came after the issue was submitted to and passed by the parliament.
