Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam arrived in Baghdad on Saturday to attend the 52nd meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, a two-day session bringing together top diplomats from member states.
The meeting is scheduled to run from Saturday to Sunday.
Minister Iruthisham was welcomed at the airport by Iraq’s Under Secretary for Political Planning, Ambassador Ahmed Nayef, ahead of the formal opening of the ministerial session. The gathering will be attended by foreign ministers, heads of delegations and senior representatives from OIC member countries.
The annual ministerial meeting serves as one of the OIC’s most significant platforms for discussing political, humanitarian and socio-economic issues affecting the Muslim world. Member states are expected to deliberate on ongoing conflicts, humanitarian crises, and collective efforts to strengthen cooperation across the Islamic community.
