President reaffirms commitment to advancing Maldives tourism through digital innovation

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Sunday reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to advancing a resilient, sustainable and future-ready tourism sector through digital innovation and skills development, while safeguarding the country’s natural beauty, unique identity and warm hospitality that make the Maldives truly exceptional.

He made the remarks in a message on occasion of World Tourism Day 2026, celebrated under the theme “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism”.

In his message, President Muizzu expressed gratitude to all those who contribute to the success of Maldivian tourism, recognizing their invaluable role in establishing the Maldives as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations.

He highlighted the sector’s vital contribution to national development, noting that tourism has enriched lives, created opportunities across the Maldivian islands, and strengthened the bonds between the locals and the millions of visitors the island nation has welcomed to its shores.
