BML signs on as Platinum Title Sponsor for World Travel Awards 2026 in Maldives

Bank of Maldives (BML) has signed on as the Platinum Title Sponsor of the World Travel Awards Asia, Oceania and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony 2026, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the global tourism industry.

The World Travel Awards is returning to the Maldives after a decade, with this year’s gala scheduled to take place at Crossroads Maldives on September 27, 2026. The event will bring together senior representatives from more than 40 countries across the tourism and hospitality sector.

According to BML, the ceremony will be attended by world-renowned hotel and resort executives, tourism board and government officials, hospitality investors, airline and aviation leaders, and international travel trade media.

BML said its partnership with Visit Maldives Corporation, the state-owned tourism promoter, will allow the bank to strengthen relationships and work more closely with both Maldivian and international tourism stakeholders. The bank noted that the sponsorship reflects its continued support for the Maldives’ tourism industry and its commitment to deepening engagement with businesses across the sector.

The World Travel Awards is widely recognized as one of the most influential global platforms celebrating excellence in tourism, honoring leading destinations, organizations and brands.
