Housing Ministry, on Thursday, announced that title deeds for 92 percent of the land plots allocated under the previous administration’s Binveriya Scheme in Hulhumalé Phase III have been handed over.

According to details shared by the Ministry, out of the 698 plots designated for allocation in Phase 3, title deeds have been issued for 641 plots to date. Additionally, 603 plots have been fully handed over to beneficiaries, accounting for 86 percent of the total plots allocated.

The Ministry stated that beneficiaries who receive their title deeds will be notified to visit the allocated sites, where they can verify the boundaries of their plots and formally take possession of the land.

The reclamation project for Hulhumalé Phase III was initially launched in September 2023 under the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, during which 24 hectares of land were reclaimed.

A total of 63 hectares of land in Hulhumalé Phase III have been reclaimed under a contract awarded to Capital Marine and Civil Construction (CMC). Following a temporary suspension, reclamation work on the remaining 38 hectares resumed on November 10 last year.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced the completion of the reclamation project on January 25 this year. Following this, the handover process for plots in Phase III began in March.
