Special Operation plan prepared for Presidential Election: Police Commissioner

Commissioner of Police Abdullah Riyaz has said that a special operation plan has been prepared to ensure a peaceful environment during the Presidential Election of 2013.

He said that advice was sought from foreign consultants when preparing the operation plan to guarantee security during the election.

Riyaz said that people should be free to campaign for the election as well as vote in the election without intimidation.

He said that discussions will be held with leaders of political parties and Elections Commission when carrying out the security plans for the election.

He said that the people should have a peaceful environment to live in after the election is over, and that the police will work towards making this possible.

The list of Operational Priorities of the police for 2013 includes efforts to ensure a peaceful environment during the election.
