The government is developing a multi-storey indoor futsal arena in Hulhumale’, featuring international-standard pitches and training facilities.

The project was first announced within the initial 14 weeks of the administration. However, work faced delays at various stages. Although the land transfer was signed in 2024, several changes were made to the plan before construction began.

The land has now been officially handed over for the development of the complex, which will include an international tournament-class futsal stadium and dedicated training grounds.

According to previously released information, the indoor futsal complex will have two additional floors above the ground level. The ground floor will host matches that meet FIFA international standards, while the upper two floors will feature four training pitches.

The complex will also include players’ classrooms, a first-aid room, language and technical rooms, and a cafeteria.

The President said land has also been allocated and funding released for a netball complex with facilities similar to the futsal building. He stated that the project will be completed by the first quarter of 2028 at the latest.
