Aasandha Company Limited has officially inaugurated eight new service counters across various regions of the Maldives.

With the establishment of the new counters, residents of eight additional islands can now access Aasandha services and receive direct assistance from company staff within their own communities. The expansion is expected to make it easier for residents to apply for medical assistance under the Aasandha scheme and complete related administrative procedures.

The eight islands where the new service counters have been opened are:

  • R. Ungoofaaru
  • B. Eydhafushi
  • Lh. Naifaru
  • ADh. Mahibadhoo
  • Dh. Kudahuvadhoo
  • L. Gan
  • GDh. Thinadhoo
  • Fuvahmulah City

The company stated that the expansion eliminates the need for residents to travel to other islands to obtain information or assistance related to Aasandha services. Prior to this expansion, service counters were available only in Malé, Hulhumalé, F. Nilandhoo, Addu City and Kulhudhuffushi City.

According to Aasandha, the initiative was implemented under the direct guidance of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu as part of broader efforts to make healthcare-related services more accessible and convenient for citizens.

The government aims to establish Aasandha service counters in urban centres across all atolls. The opening of the new counters marks a significant step towards achieving the administration's objective of expanding access to Aasandha services nationwide.

Aasandha Company Limited was established by the government in 2011 to administer the national social health insurance scheme and provide financial assistance to citizens for medical expenses.
