Male’ grocery store fined for selling merchandise on road

The Male’ City Council has fined a grocery store in Machangolhi district for placing and selling merchandise on the road.

The city council announced on Monday that it penalized Barura Mart, located in Kurikeela Magu, after it continued to sell merchandise on the road despite repeated warnings.

A photo shared by the city council shows crates of fruits, including bananas, placed on the narrow sidewalk and the road outside the store.

The city council did not specify the exact amount by which it fined the store.
