Pres. Muizzu: Confident Maldives-Azerbaijan ties will continue to prosper

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed confidence that Maldives-Azerbaijan ties will continue to prosper in the years ahead.

The President extended facilitations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev and Prime Minister Ali Hidayat oglu Asadov on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.

In his message to President Ilham Aliyev, President Muizzu noted that the Maldives and Azerbaijan are approaching the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. He expressed hope that the longstanding bilateral relationship, founded on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation, would continue to flourish in the years ahead.

In his message to Prime Minister Asadov, the President highlighted the strong and stable relations between the Maldives and Azerbaijan, underscored by a shared commitment to mutual understanding and collaborative efforts to enhance cooperation. He expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to expand in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of both countries.

President Muizzu also conveyed his personal best wishes for the good health and wellbeing of both leaders, as well as for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the people of Azerbaijan.

The President reiterated these sentiments on his official X account, noting that Azerbaijan has made significant progress since gaining independence and has advanced its development in line with the aspirations of its people.

Azerbaijan annually marks its Independence Day on 28 May, commemorating the declaration of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918.
