Didi’s AI-assisted MV ‘Where You Left Me Standing’ nominated for MUSES Creative Awards

In a landmark achievement for Maldivian digital artists, creative producer Ahmed Mohamed Didi (Didi) has caught the eyes of the international film industry.

His music video, "Where You Left Me Standing – Leena’s Story," has advanced to the final judging stage of the prestigious MUSES Creative Awards, also known as the MUSES Film Awards. Selected from hundreds of global entries, the production impressed judges with its seamless integration of profound human emotion and cutting-edge technology, resulting in a highly compelling work.

Produced approximately a year ago, "Where You Left Me Standing – Leena’s Story" presents a poignant narrative centered on the emotional trauma experienced by children separated from their parents. The video examines the psychological scars left by such experiences, as well as the enduring and painful question that often lingers among children from fractured families: "Is this my fault?"

The project stands as a notable example of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be utilized to enhance creative storytelling. While the core concept was developed by Didi, and the film features a compelling performance by the singer, its atmospheric soundscape and dreamlike visuals were meticulously created using advanced AI technology.

"Technology is simply the brush I use for my canvas," Didi remarked. He underscored that, despite employing sophisticated tools, he retains full creative control over the editing, narrative progression, and overall artistic direction of the film.

Currently residing in the United States, Didi’s work is gaining recognition not only at the MUSES Awards but also on the European stage. The music video is scheduled for screening at the "Levadia International Film Festival" in Greece on May 10.

The International Awards Associate, the body responsible for organizing the MUSE Awards, informed Didi that his work distinguished itself among a highly competitive international field, with the production advancing to the highest tier of the judging process.

The MUSES Creative Awards is a globally recognized platform that honors excellence in film, television, advertising, and digital media. Being shortlisted reflects an artist’s capacity to transcend conventional boundaries and introduce innovative approaches to storytelling.
