Fire breaks out in staffrooms of Atoll Education Centre in Villingili

A fire broke out inside the staffrooms of the Atoll Education Centre in GA. Villingili late Thursday evening.

Villingili Councillor Ibrahim Rasheed told Sun that the blaze erupted in the area where around four staffrooms are located. The fire was reported roughly an hour earlier, and teams from the MNDF, police, and island residents are working together to bring it under control.

He said the fire remains uncontained and efforts are ongoing.

“There are no reports of injuries,” the councillor confirmed.

Police and MNDF officials were not immediately available for comment.
