Ex-state minister for housing Akram Kamaaluddin and opposition MDP’s deputy chairperson Ibrahim Waheed allegedly taking a video of Home Minister Ali Ihusan's wife and children on the street.
Home Minister Ali Ihusan has accused former state minister for housing Akram Kamaaluddin and opposition MDP’s deputy chairperson Ibrahim Waheed of recording a video of his wife and young daughter.
Ihusan shared a post on X in the early hours of Friday morning alongside a short CCTV footage in which he claimed that Akram and Waheed recorded a video of his wife and 10-year-old daughter on the street.
The footage shared by the Minister shows Waheed filming a video on his phone while Akram stands nearby. Another man is with them on a motorbike.

According to Ihusan, the footage captured by Waheed was subsequently posted via an anonymous account.
The posted video shows a woman and two young children traversing a street in Malé. One child is seen riding a bicycle, accompanied by a man who is alleged in the video to be a bodyguard.
Ihusan slammed Akram and Waheed, citing the “self-proclaimed advocates for democracy, women’s rights, and children’s rights stoop to such undignified tactics”. He added that the incident symbolizes the “cheap, divisive politics the MDP has long represented.”
Neither Akram nor Waheed has commented on the incident.
