Two dredgers utilized to speed-up Giraavaru Falhu reclamation

The reclamation of land in Giraavaru Falhu is in progress with the simultaneous use of two dredgers, says President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

He made the remark in a post on X on Friday, sharing photos of the progress on the project.

“Land reclamation of Giraavaru Falhu in progress with two dredges,” wrote President Muizzu, without elaborating.

Thousands from Male’ were promised land from Giraavaru Falhu, Gulhifalhu and Hulhumale’ under the ‘Binveriya’ housing scheme rolled out by the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

160 hectors of land are set to be reclaimed from Giraavaru Falhu. The project had stalled at 54 hectors, before resuming again in January.
