Maumoon Foundation-Islamic Ministry sign MoU for mutual cooperation

Maumoon Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for mutual cooperation in their respective fields.

The MoU was signed by Maumoon Foundation’s chairman, former Maldivian president Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom and Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Under the MoU, the Maumoon Foundation will plan and carry out a project to renovate the Islamic Centre in Malé, ensuring the building’s long-term use in line with terms agreed by both parties, including efforts to secure local and international support for the project.

The MoU also extends to attendance and speeches by Maumoon at Islamic functions organized by the Islamic Ministry at the Islamic Centre and the display of books written by the former president at the public library in the Islamic Centre.

Additionally, the Islamic Ministry will provide assistance to various Islamic and social activities organized by the Maumoon Foundation. The Ministry will also assist Maumoon Foundation in establishing its digital archive and library.
