Fire breaks out in a house in Vilimale

A fire incident took place in a house in Vilimale’ today, as an air conditioning unit a room caught on fire.

A Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) official said today that the fire broke out sometime this afternoon and that by the time MNFD personnel arrived at the scene, the fire, caught on an air condition unit, had been extinguished. The official said that nobody was hurt during the incident.

“By the time MNDF fire team reached the area, the fire caught in the house’s room had been extinguished. Nobody was hurt, the room received no damage,” the officer said.

Tragic incidents due to air conditioning units catching on fire have increased recently .
