Person fined MVR 3000 for attacking a policeman

A person who attacked a policeman on duty on the day that the police took over Usfasgandu last year, has been fine with an amount of MVR 3000.

The person fined for the attack is Hussain Faheem of Thaa Madifushi Faransaage.

The Criminal Court ruling stated that it has been proven in court through statements of witnesses that on the 29th of May last year, sometime in the afternoon, Faheem had hit a policeman in the chest while he was on duty near the Usfasgandu area.

Faheem has also been ordered to pay the due within one month to the Criminal Court, as stipulated in Article 75 of the Police Act.
