The “New Drug in Schools” post being circulated in social media is completely untrue, says Maldives Police Service.
The post claims school students are being given the “Strawberry” pills as candies, and warns school students and parents not to consume anything given by strangers.
In response to questions over the post, Maldives Police Service said no such case has been reported from any school, teacher or parent.
“From what we investigate, this claim is completely baseless. This information is incorrect. This is misinformation which is being spread. No one has reported any such case,” said the police media official.
Maldives Police Service has appealed to the public against spread of misinformation on social media.
