House in Hithadhoo damaged in fire

A fire incident at a house in Hithadhoo, Addu City on Saturday night has left a portion of the house heavily damaged.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said the fire broke out inside a room in house Naina Manzil around 9:10 p.m. An office space, kitchen and two other rooms were also effected by fire and smoke, MNDF said

Cause of the fire has not been identified.

MNDF firemen, with assistance from the public, were able to control the fire around 9:45 p.m.
