Adventure Up: Island Carnival well received by public; goal is to hold event biannually

Adventure Up, the organizer of Island Carnival in Fuvahmulah City, states that the event, spanning four days, with exhilarating games and captivating live music performances, received huge support from the public.

The event, held on Friday, kicked off alongside ‘Rashi Bazaaro’, the biggest night market organized by Fuvahmulah City Council.

While Island Carnival concluded on Monday, the night market will continue through Friday.

Speaking with Sun regarding Island Carnival, Adventure Up’s Managing Director Shaam Naseer said the event was well received by the public. He underscored plans to expand the event to other islands in the future, with a target to hold the event biannually.

Shaam added the next island where Island Carnival will be held will be decided based on proposals received.

During the four-day Island Carnival event, popular local musicians Abdulla Hishan, who rose to fame from Maldivian Island, Mohamed Nasooh from 2ofus and Cleo showcased their performances.

The event featured games which residents of atolls usually do not get to experience such as bull riding, wipe out, reflects games, laser tag and gladiator duel.
