Sun Siyam Media has officially partnered with the Vaavu Atoll Council as the media partner for the upcoming Vaavu Volleyball Tournament, organized by the council.
The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 15 and conclude on August 23. This highly anticipated event marks its return after a six-year hiatus, with this year's matches set to be held in V. Felidhoo.
The agreement was formalized with the signing by Shujau Ali, President of the Vaavu Atoll Council, on behalf of the council, and Mohamed Asif, Chief Executive Officer, on behalf of SS Media.
Following the signing ceremony, Shujau stated that the tournament is an initiative to strengthen inter-island ties within the atoll and to foster the development of a new generation of volleyball players. He further elaborated that SS Media was selected as the media partner after extensive consultations, citing their exemplary coverage of the recent Cava Champions League as a significant factor in the decision.
Vaavu Atoll holds a notable reputation in national volleyball, with many players from the atoll having represented the national women's and men's teams at various times. Current strong national teams also include players from Vaavu Atoll.
Shujau highlighted the consistent positive reception of the Vaavu Volleyball Tournament, which features both women's and men's divisions.
This year's tournament will see four teams competing in the men's division and three teams in the women's division.
