Top Kyrgyzstan volleyball club, Bishkek arrived in the Maldives on Wednesday to compete in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Champions League.

The CAVA Men’s Champions League – the biggest men’s club volleyball competition in central Asia – is set to begin in Male’ on Thursday.

The star-studded Bishkek club, which includes a number of volleyballers who play for the Kyrgyzstan national team, are the winners of the Kyrgyzstan Volleyball League. A 19-member team from Bishkek arrived in Male’ for the upcoming tournament on Wednesday evening.

The CAVA Men’s Champions League will take place from July 17-23 at the Social Center in Male’. Bishkek’s opening fixture is at 04:30 pm on Thursday, against the Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) – the champions of the Maldives Volleyball League.

CAVA Men’s Champions League will see six clubs, including two from the Maldives, face off against each other to become the volleyball champions of central Asia.

The Maldives is being represented by DSC and Club HDC, the finalists of both the National Volleyball Competition and the Association Cup.

The other clubs vying for the championship crown, other than DSC, Club HDC, and Bishkek are; Kazakh champions VC Zhayyk, Nepalese champions Help Nepal, and Sri Lankan champions Ports Authority.

CAVA Champions League match schedule.

The CAVA Champions League will be played league-style. All clubs will face off against each other, and the two clubs that score the highest points will compete in the final for the championship trophy. Meanwhile, the clubs that place third and fourth will play a ranking match, while the clubs that place fifth and sixth will compete in a play-off match.

The competition will see 18 matches, with three matches daily at 01:30 pm, 04:30 pm and 08:45 pm.
