FM Khaleel participates in high-level panel discussion at 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, on Friday, has attended the Fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.

In this regard, the Minister participated in the high-level panel discussion on “Geostrategic Dynamics in the Asia-Pacific”, alongside the President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation Dr. Atsushi Sunami and Head of the Stockholm Centre for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs Professor Jagannath Panda, which is being hosted in collaboration with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan.

During the panel discussions, Minister Khaleel discussed the shifting geopolitical dynamics in the region and highlighted major global challenges such as climate change, particularly its significant impact on Small Island Developing States. He emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy in addressing new global threats and stressed the vital contribution of regional and international organizations in reducing tensions.

The Minister also highlighted the strategic importance of the Maldives' location, stressing that the country's security and prosperity are closely tied to the overall stability of the surrounding region.
