Court has ordered to arrest Nasheed in order to take him to court: Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s legal team has said that Hulhumale’ Magistrate Court has issued an order upon the police to arrest Nasheed in order to take him to court.

In an interview with Sun Online tonight, Nasheed’s lawyer Hisaan Hussain said that the team had received a copy of the court order to arrest Nasheed in order to take him to court at 4:00 pm tomorrow.

She said that the police have also said that Nasheed will be arrested tomorrow morning.

Hisaan said that as the court order is not likely to have been issued according to regulations, it will be appealed in High Court tomorrow.

The media department of the judiciary said that it was not informed of any such order by the Hulhumale’ Court.

It has not yet been possible to contact the police regarding this matter.
