MPs to be trained up to degree in the field of judiciary and law

Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), on Tuesday, announced they have commenced a higher education training program for lawmakers in the field of law judiciary and law.

According to IUM, the program has kicked off with Advanced Certificate in Shariah and Law; a one-year course. Eight lawmakers are currently enrolled in the course, added the University.

IUM said an orientation was held on Monday for the lawmakers who enrolled in the course.

The University detailed that the course is conducted online under a specific schedule, especially for lawmakers. However, they will be receiving certificates alongside the current batch enrolled in the course at the university. 

IUM added that a degree program specific for lawmakers will be introduced within this month.
