President Muizzu embarks on tour of HA. Atoll

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday morning departed Male’ on a three-day tour of islands in HA. Atoll.

According to the President’s Office, President Muizzu will be visiting at least 10 islands in HA. Atoll as part of the current tour; Dhihdhoo, Filladhoo, Hoarafushi, Ihavandhoo, Maarandhoo, Molhadhoo, Muraidhoo, Thakandhoo, Uligan, and Utheem.

His first stop was Muraidhoo.

He is set to holding meetings with the atoll council as well as local councils, women’s development committees, and senior figures at institutions in the islands, during which he will inquire about the unique developmental needs of each island.

He will inaugurate several developmental projects in the islands, including new police posts, council secretariat buildings, and a cold storage facility.

He will also inaugurate national identity card and passport services, initiate the ‘Magey Solar’ project, and oversee the signing of agreements between councils and the Bank of Maldives (BML) to commence ATM services, as part of the administration’s pledge to facilitate easier access to banking services across the nation.

He is accompanied on the tour by cabinet ministers and senior government officials, and is set to return to Male’ on Thursday.

This tour is part of the President Muizzu’s pledge to engage with local councils across the atolls, islands, and cities.
