NDA advises to be cautious about strong, dangerous drug in circulation

The National Drug Agency (NDA) has advised people to be cautious about a strong and dangerous drug suspected to be in circulation in the society.

This warning comes after a tweet by Commissioner of Police Abdullah Riyaz earlier that a fake type of LSD, which when consumed could stop a person’s heart, was in circulation.

NDA said that if a drug user shows any signs indicating that he may be in need of medical attention, he should immediately be taken to a medical facility. NDA also said that more information can be obtained for free by dialling 1410.

Police Commissioner Abdullah Riyaz said in his tweet last night, “LSD is a very dangerous drug. It could stop your heart! Reports received that fake LSD is supplied & that some drug users are on it.”

Customs records show that LSD, which can cause hallucination among several other effects, was last brought into Maldives in 1998.
