Judge Abdul Baaree suspended

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has informed that Criminal Court Judge Abdul Baaree Yoosuf has been suspended.

JSC Media Official Hassan Zaheen said that Abdul Baaree has been notified not to attend work until the commission completes its investigation of a case filed against him.

Zaheen said that further information cannot be disclosed as the matter is presently under investigation.

Sun Online understands that Abdul Baaree was suspended regarding a disciplinary issue.

Abdul Baaree has been working with criminal cases for over seven years.

Serious cases he has presided over include the murder of Police Officer Adam Haleem in K. Kaashidhoo, the murder in Sh. Bilehfahi, the case filed by the state against Adam Naseer Abubakur of H. Reendhooge for large scale drug trade, and the case against Abdul Latheef of Daily Blue, Gn. Fuvahmulah.

Abdul Baaree is presently working with several cases, including the murder of a foreigner in Fuvahmulah, the murder of a foreigner in Hulhumale’, and the murder of Hussain Mohamed Manik of Seaview, Hoarafushi.
