MMA probes into staff’s personal information leak

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has begun looking into a recent leak of one of its employee’s personal information.

A senior MMA employee’s personal information was leaked earlier this week, including a supposed document purporting a decision regarding the said individual by the authority.

Regarding the issue, MMA confirmed to ‘Sun’ on Thursday the authority prioritizes protection of the personal information of its employees.

MMA has launched an internal audit to learn the origin of this data leakage for which it was acquiring assistance from the Maldives Police Service as well.
