Thailand's capital Bangkok.

Foreign Ministry states Maldivians traveling to Thailand are now entitled to visa-free stay for up to 60 days.

Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Thursday, said Maldivians traveling to Thailand have been extended additional easements by the Thailand government following changes to its immigration policies. The said easements came into effect on Monday, July 15th.

In this regard, Maldivians traveling to Thailand for tourism, business engagements, or urgent work/ad-hoc work are now entitled to visa-free stay for up to 60 days.

Furthermore, an extension of stay not exceeding 30 days may also be granted to the traveler if requested before the permission period expires. However, the extension is solely at the discretion of Royal Thai Immigration.

In their statement, the Ministry also underscored the importance of obtaining travel insurance and urged travelers to comply with the laws and regulations of the respective nation.

Many countries have facilitated easements to Maldivians traveling to the country in terms of visas and other matters.
