Chef Guild's Deputy to judge Lankan Culinary Challenge

Deputy President of Chef Guilds of Maldives Ishaq Solih --

The Deputy President of Chef Guilds of Maldives (CGM) Ishaq Solih has been selected among judges for the 'Tea Coconut and Spice Festival Culinary Challenge 2024' organized and held by the Chef Guilds of Lanka.

The Maldives Chef Guilds announced Ishaq is taking part in the challenge as judge upon the Sri Lankan Chef Guilds' request.

Besides leading the efforts of the Chef Guilds in the Maldives as its Deputy President, Ishaq is the Executive Chef of Royal Island Resort. He is also a World Association of Chefs' Societies (WACS)-certified continental judge.

At the 2022 edition of CGM Chefs Awards, Ishaq won the Executive Chef Award, and the 'Long Service Special' Award as well.

Sri Lankan guilds' "Tea Coconut and Spice Festival Culinary Challenge" was established with the aim of creating a friendly and competitive environment for culinary artisans to prepare traditional Sri Lanka cuisines and dishes using the challenge's eponymous items.

The guild also aims on revitalizing the diminishing skills in preparing traditional Sri Lanka cuisines through the challenge.

A total of 17 challenges under four categories are planned under the challenge, which are;

  • Live Cooking
  • Beverages
  • Artistic
  • Restaurant and Cafe' Chefs

The challenge will be held at Sri Lanka's Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.
