Reclamation projects for six islands handed over

Housing Ministry and Housing Development Corporation (HDC) have signed contracts for reclamation projects for six islands.

The agreement was signed by Housing Minister Dr Mohamed Muizzu on behalf of the Maldivian government, and by HDC Managing Director Suhail Ahmed on behalf of HDC.

Housing Ministry said that the islands included in the agreement are K. Thulhusdhoo, Th. Guraidhoo, K. Maafushi, Dh. Meedhoo, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo and K. Guraidhoo, and that reclamation for Guraidhoo and Thulhusdhoo will be funded by the state.

Details such as the hectares to be reclaimed or the cost of the projects are not known.
