Recipients who did not collect land document given March 27 deadline

Housing Ministry has decided to grant an additional opportunity for recipients of land from Male’ area under the ‘Binveriya’ housing scheme who have not already collected the land document to do so.

The Ministry, in a statement on Thursday, said many recipients did not collect the land document during the earlier opportunity they had opened for recipients who had not collected the land document.

Henceforth, the Ministry announced an additional opportunity for the recipients to sign the agreement with respect to their plots and collect the land registry in addition to the document certifying the receipt of land, with a deadline set at March 27th.

The Ministry states land recipients can request appointments for the purpose through the Ministry’s Hiyaavehi portal.

As per the Ministry, a total of 8,349 recipients have collected the document certifying the receipt of land and the registry.

18,955 individuals are eligible for land under the former administration’s ‘Binveriya’ scheme. 9,003 land plots will be issued to recipients from Hulhumale’, Gulhifalhu and Giraavarufalhu.

Although the previous administration targeted to hand over the registries before the completion of its term – they had not managed to do so. 

The former administration also announced an additional 4,000 plots under phase two of ‘Binveriya’ scheme. These 4,000 plots will be issued from north Thilafushi.

The list of applicants who applied for the land plots has been publicized which comprised of 19,347 applicants.
