Not possible to provide treatment under methadone treatment program

Drug Court has said today that the National Drug Agency has not proposed methadone treatment plan, even though the agency had recommended that some people who are prosecuted after the Indicative Assessment Report shall undergo a methadone treatment program. The Indicative Assessment Report is ordered by the Drug Court.

The court said that they have not been able to issue rehabilitation orders to the people in need of the treatment because the agency has neglected to propose the methadone treatment plan.

The court also said 71 people are currently undergoing treatments from the community rehabilitation program and the residential rehabilitation program, which are being carried out under court rehabilitation orders.

It has not yet been possible to obtain a statement from the National Drug Agency regarding the issue.
