Sun Siyam Vilu Reef celebrates International Day for Older Persons

Sun Siyam Vilu Reef Family Club grandly celebrated International Day for Older Persons.

Speaking to Sun, Vilu Reef Family Club’s Chairperson, Mohamed Hameed said that this celebration was carried out in collaboration between Dh. Rinbudhoo Council and Vilu Reef Family Club.

This celebration was held yesterday from 4:45 pm till 6:00 pm.

He said that first of all, the elderly were brought to the youth center in a honourable way with a cultural activity.

The celebrations began with a speech by Rinbudhoo council’s president after which Vilu Reef Family Club performed more cultural activities.

In addition, a special fruit basket prepared by the resort was presented to the elderly dignitaries who participated in the event.

He also said that in order to make the celebrations more complete, a cake was cut with the participation of the elderly and tea was served afterwards.

Hameed said that 40 elderly people participated in this celebration. In addition, heads of various institutions and Vilu Reef's management team also participated in the event.

Hameed thanked Rinbudhoo council for their help and cooperation in making this celebration a success.

He added that the events are also in conjunction with the resort’s 25th anniversary. Various activities are planned from the beginning to the end of this month, he said.

Speaking further, Hameed said that such activities are held as they are a high priority for Sun Siyam Care.
