Maldivian hajj pilgrim dies in Mecca

A Maldivian man on hajj pilgrimage has died in Saudi Arabia.

Islamic Ministry identified the deceased as Ali Hassan, 72, Fiyaathoshige, Dh. Maaenboodhoo.

He had travelled to Saudi Arabia with the Maldives Hajj Corporation.

According to the Islamic Ministry, Ali Hassan died while under treatment at the Saudi German Hospital in Mecca at 06:17 pm on Friday, Maldivian time.

The latest death comes after another Maldivian pilgrim, Mohamed Naseem Ali, 72, Mala, R. Maakurath, was found dead early Friday, four days after he went missing.
