Man sentenced to six years in prison for threatening to blast a shop

Criminal Court, on Monday, sentenced a man to six months in prison for threatening to blast ‘Fari Reethi’ a shop in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi.

Ibrahim Hassan, Kandoomaage, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi was charged with threatening destruction in connection to the case.

He was charged for threatening to blast the shop during a disagreement with the owner of the shop.

The incident took place on the afternoon of February 4^th this year.

Ibrahim Hassan confessed to making the threat during the investigation process and the court proceedings.

Therewith, the case was fast-tracked, following which he was sentenced to six months in prison yesterday. Criminal Court’s judgment states that Ibrahim Hassan would have to serve five months and 22 days of the six-month prison sentence following the deduction of the time period he spent in custody in connection to the case.
