New born baby found abandoned in Male

A new born baby has been found today abandoned in a narrow alleyway in Male’.

Police spokesperson Sub-inspector Hassan Haneef said that the baby way found about 5:45 this morning and was left in a narrow alleyway in front of a house named M. Release. He said that the police have taken the baby to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and that baby is a girl.

“We are now investigating the matter,” said Haneef.

She is being treated in IGMH. Sun Online has come to know that there were signs that her mother had freshly given birth to her. Compared to last year, the numbers of abandoned baby incidents have decreased this year.
