Foreign national found dead buried in Male

The foreign national found dead in M. Mizamaange on Lonuziyaaraiy Magu, has been buried in Male’.

Police identified the dead body found last Friday night as Sri Lankan national Upali Vijealal Thalagala Arachi. Police said that he was buried at Henveyru cemetery after taking the samples necessary for the investigation.

Police said that he was buried in Male’ last Tuesday night after obtaining the consent of his wife, who lives in Sri Lanka, and the Sri Lankan High Commission.

Doctors who investigated the case said that he had been dead for some time between 36 hours and 72 hours before he was found on the night of 14 December in M. Mizamaange.

Police referred to the doctor and said earlier that the reasons for his death can best be determined by conducting a post-mortem.
