Parliament Speaker, former President Mohamed Nasheed has departed on an official visit to Washington DC, United States.
Nasheed departed for Washington on Wednesday.
According to the Parliament, Nasheed travelled to Washington to attend the 10th V20 Ministerial Dialogue of the Vulnerable Twenty (V20) Groups of Ministers of Finance, co-organized by the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He will conclude his visit on Monday.
Nasheed has been invited by the current chair of V20, Ghanian Finance Minister Ken Ofri-Atta to attend the ministerial dialogue on the theme “From Accra to Marrakesh: Advocating Fit-for-Climate Financial Architecture and Development-Positive Climate Action.”
Nasheed is also scheduled to meet senior officials from the IMF, World Bank and CVF during his visit.
