Seven directorates set up to strengthen Police Force

Several directorates have been set up to strengthen the Police Force.

Maldives Police Services said that under the new structure of the Police, a Strategic Planning Directorate, a Professional Standards Directorate, a Criminal Investigation Directorate, an Investigation Support Directorate, an Operations Directorate, a Regional Police Directorate, a Support Service Directorate and a Service Development Directorate have been set up.

The Police also said that several departments, divisions and units have been set up along with these Directorates under Strategic Planning, in order to make the Police Institution a place where employees learn, exchange knowledge and ideas and hold discussions.

They also said that to make the best use of human resources, the civil employees in administrative jobs are being transferred to operations, and civil employees are being assigned to administrative positions. They also said that the Police should be capable and of good conduct, and that they are trying to provide opportunities of education and training for both genders.
