As part of this agreement, matches of the tournament will be broadcasted live on SSTV as it takes place over six days starting the day after Eid al-Fitr. The tournament, from its beginning to the end, will also be live-streamed on SS Media’s social media platforms.

Baibalaa Association’s Secretary General Saeed, underscoring the participation of 35 teams with over 1,000 players in last year’s edition of the tournament, expressed hope for as many teams and players to participate this year as well.

He detailed that SS Media was chosen as the broadcasting partner following their dedication to youth and sports-related content during the short period since the television channel’s inception.

“A media that has garnered huge support from the public within a short period of time. The decision was made this time around, as it is not only a new channel, but also one that prioritizes sports and the youth,” he said.

“Eid, is not an Eid, if there is no Baibalaa. That is why we believe in the importance of bringing such a sport to youths,” he added.

Cash prizes have been allocated for winning teams and players this year as well. In this regard, the champion team stands to receive MVR 100,000 while the runners-up team stands to receive MVR 40,000. Meanwhile, ‘Mister Baibalaa’ will receive MVR 100,00 – whereas the fair play team will receive MVR 5,000. The best five teams of the tournament will be selected as well.
