The Mayor of Male’ City Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday requested authorities not to issue vehicle fines for those attending prayers.

He particularly highlighted that during Ramadan, motorcycles, taxies and other vehicles of those attending prayers should not be fined. He urged authorities against doing so.

Having to spend time driving around in search of an ideal parking spot happen to be a long standing concern of many who live in Male’.

When parked outside of the set zones, traffic police will fine those vehicles.

Notably, the mayor has recently called on the government to dismiss the parking fines given to people, without having an adequate parking system set in place.
