Quran competition kids can partake from home; the prize – MVR 25,000

SSTV has announced a Quran competition for the upcoming month of Ramadan, that children can participate in from the comfort of their homes.

SSTV’s senior producer Aminath Haifa told Sun on Thursday that children can participate in the Quran competition, Haqqul Yaqin, from any Maldivian island or even overseas.

Interested children have been asked to submit their names.

The age categories:

  • Below seven years
  • Below nine years
  • Below 11 years
  • Below 13 years

Participants must record recitations of maximum six lines from the Quran and submit to SSTV.

“Children can participate in this competition from the islands or even abroad,” said Haifa.

An SMS must be sent to 2747 to enter the competition in the following format:

HY (name, age, island)

Prizes:

  • First place: MVR 25,000
  • Second place: MVR 15,000
  • Third place: MVR 10,000

Haifa asked that the recordings be of the highest quality.

The deadline is 12:00 pm on March 15.
