Maldivian music band Humble Bakari has released its new album ‘Aniyaa’, dedicated to the memory of Shiaau Mohamed Saeed, an aspiring musician who was killed in Male’ City last year.
The album, available for streaming on Baiskoafu, has nine songs – produced and sung by Moosa Adam Manik (KJ).
Humble Bakari and Shiaau had begun work on the album in the middle of last year. Some of the songs had come close to recording back then.
However, the shocking murder of the 22-year-old brought work on the album to a complete standstill.
The band later met KJ and resumed work on the album. They decided to dedicate the album to Shiaau.
Three of the songs has Shiaau’s voice using artificial intelligence. The band used parts she sang during practice.
Humble Bakari conveyed special thanks to sound engineer and music producer Mohamed Ikram.
‘Aniyaa’ is available for free streaming on Baiskoafu.
