Sheikh Ilyas elected as President of Adhaalath Scholars

Sheikh Ilyas Hussein has been elected as the President of Adhaalath Scholar’s Majlis.

Spokesperson for Adhaalath Mohamed Muizz said today that Ilyas was elected as the President of Adhaalath Scholar’s Majlis by the members present at the Scholars’ Majlis meeting held today.

Ilyas is elected due to the resignation of Dr Abdul Majeed Abdul Baaree, who previously held this post.

In addition, people were also elected today for the posts of Vice President and Secretary of Adhaalath Scholars’ Majlis. Dr Mohamed Iyaz was elected as Vice President and Sheikh Izzaddheen Adhnaan was elected as Secretary.

Dr Iyaz holds a PhD in Sharia, while Sheikh Izzaddheen holds first degree in Sharia. Sheikh Ilyas, in addition to being a talented public speaker, holds first degree in Quran Studies.
